Purpose
The vaccine is intended for the prevention of brucellosis in cattle with the permission of veterinary services of administrative entities in unfavorable, as well as favorable brucellosis farms located in the territories of unfavorable subjects in case of a threat of animal infection.
Description and characteristics
The vaccine appears as a dry amorphous mass of light yellow or light brown color. The vaccine is made from a live culture of the vaccine strain Brucella abortus RB-51 "SchBK" with the addition of 25% sucrose-gelatin stabilizer (live vaccine).
Method of vaccination
Before use, the vaccine is diluted with a diluent for dry brucellosis vaccines at a rate of 2 cm3 per dose. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously to animals in the area of the posterior third of the neck in a volume of 2 cm3 . In favorable and unfavorable brucellosis farms, heifers not reacting to brucellosis in serological examination are vaccinated starting from the age of 4 months with subsequent revaccination after 6-10 months but no later than 2 months before insemination.
Immune response
The vaccine induces an immune response in cattle to brucellosis within three weeks after administration, lasting for at least 12 months.
Production form
The vaccine is packaged in 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8 cm3 (the dose is determined by the quality control results, with a possible range from 5 to 25 doses for cattle with a diluent from 10 cm3 to 50 cm3 , i.e., 2 cm3 of diluent per dose) in vials of appropriate capacity.
Storage and transportation conditions
The vaccine is stored and transported in a light-protected place at a temperature of 2 to 8°C.
Shelf life - 12 months.
